Gabriela Aparecida de Almeida dos Santos

Sou estudante de Medicina na Universidade Nove de Julho e atualmente inicio minha trajetória na pesquisa científica como integrante do Abrahao Lab. Minha investigação tem como foco o impacto da idade na dinâmica temporal rítmica da atividade de neurônios do globo pálido externo. A neurociência me encanta pela capacidade de revelar que sustentam nossa comportamento, cognição e emoções. Compreender o cérebro, pra mim, é entender o que nos torna humanos.

 

I am a medical student at Universidade Nove de Julho and am currently beginning my scientific research career as a member of the Abrahao Lab. My research focuses on the impact of age on the rhythmic temporal dynamics of neuronal activity in the external globus pallidus. I am fascinated by neuroscience because of its capacity to reveal the underlying principles of our behavior, cognition, and emotions. Understanding the brain, for me, is understanding what makes us human.
